BILSPUR. A Coal Consumers Meet for the Power and NRS sectors of Coal India’s Central and Western Zone was organized today at the headquarters of South Eastern Coalfields Limited in Bilaspur. The meet was organized with the objective of strengthening coordination with consumers and enhancing dialogue on coal supply, quality management, and operational issues.
Present on the occasion were SECL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Shri Harish Duhan, Coal India Director (Marketing) Shri Mukesh Chaudhary, SECL Director (Technical/Operations) Shri N. Franklin Jayakumar, and SECL Director (Planning/Projects) Shri Rameshchandra Mahapatra.
Addressing the gathering, SECL CMD Shri Harish Duhan stated that SECL is fully committed to ensuring the supply of quality coal and timely dispatches to its consumers. He informed that the company has set a target of 195 million tonnes of coal production and 200 million tonnes of offtake during the current financial year, which SECL aims to achieve with full commitment and operational efficiency. He assured consumers that SECL remains dedicated to continuously improving coal quality and maintaining customer satisfaction as its highest priority.
Speaking during the meeting, Coal India Director (Marketing) Shri Mukesh Chaudhary said that Coal India Limited is continuously striving to provide coal of the stipulated quality to its consumers. He emphasized that the company’s objective is to ensure uninterrupted coal supply while minimizing quality-related issues and grade slippage. He welcomed the suggestions and feedback shared by consumers during the meeting and assured prompt and positive action on all important issues raised.
Around 125 representatives from various Power and NRS sector consumer companies participated in the Consumers Meet. Detailed discussions were held on coal supply, quality management, logistics, and improving mutual coordination. Consumers also shared their suggestions and feedback, on which positive initiatives were assured.
Senior officials of SECL and Coal India, including General Manager (Sales & Marketing) Shri Ajit Chaudhary, were also present during the meeting.
Later in the evening, at the CMD Conference Hall of SECL Headquarters, Coal India Director (Marketing) Shri Mukesh Chaudhary and SECL CMD Shri Harish Duhan held a meeting with representatives of the Chhattisgarh Sponge Iron Manufacturing Association and consumers associated with the sponge iron industry. Various industry-related issues were discussed in detail during the interaction.
